Between, 28 to 29 June 2010, officers of Fraud Investigation Department, Police Academy, Information and Criminal Records Department of the Ministry of Interior attended a seminar on"Fight against cyber crime."The event was organized with the support of the State Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bavaria region of Germany and the Hans Seidel Fund.
The purpose of the event was to familiarize staff of MIA with the latest methods of fight with cyber crime, types of databases and their effectiveness in a criminal prosecution. During the seminar were presented examples of colleagues work from Germany, who shows cases how to use new information technologies, diversity database and methods of their implementation in practice in order to achieve the expected results.
The moderator of the seminar, Mr Klaus Bayerl, director of Criminal Police in the city of Augsburg, Germany, noted the importance of sharing experience and best practices in all divisions of the MIA activity.
German expert made a definition of terms used in information technologies and global network connections, demonstrating imaginary devices and software used by cyber criminals. During the meeting it was discussed the most frequent crimes reported and investigated in Germany.
Klaus Bayerl underlined that computer crime investigation and detection of offenders is a difficult international issue, emphasising also the need for international cooperation with similar services of other states.
At the end of the event, the parties agreed to organize in future the seminars and training courses on this matter, emphasizing the need to enhance cooperation between the competent bodies of both countries.
