The Republic of Moldova and Romania continue to deepen their strategic security cooperation, building a sustainable partnership to protect citizens, ensure regional stability, and promote joint development. Confronted with complex challenges in the region, both countries reaffirm their commitment to act in a coordinated and responsible manner in addressing cross-border threats. 

European integration is both a choice of direction and an affirmation of identity for Moldova - a path that promises greater security, freedom, and opportunity for every citizen. It is the means by which European values become a tangible part of everyday life. 

Between June 11 and 13, 2025, a delegation of Focal Points from Moldovan security and defence institutions, responsible for implementing the 2023-2027 National Action Program (NAP) on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace and Security” (WPS) undertook a working visit to Sarajevo.

How can women be more meaningfully involved in peace processes? What roles do they play in conflict situations and how can initiatives that protect and empower them be supported?

These questions were at the heart of discussions during the Thematic Meeting of the Global Network of Focal Points on Women, Peace and Security, held on May 13-14, 2025, in Oslo, Norway.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is working with partners from Germany to develop new projects aimed at strengthening responses to risk situations, enhancing citizen protection, and equipping operational structures.

Stronger security for citizens and better-prepared institutions to meet emerging challenges - this was the focus of the meeting between Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin and H.E. Cosmin Dinescu, Head of the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova).
