To strengthen border security, the Government has approved amendments to the operational framework of the National Council for Integrated State Border Management. The initiative introduces a national mechanism for the continuous assessment of border management, aligned with the European Union model.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), as the national coordinator for the implementation of the National program on the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), is actively engaged, together with civil society organizations, in advancing the localization of the WPS Agenda in Moldova.

Moldova and Ukraine will establish a new road border crossing point and build a cross-border road bridge over the Nistru River, following the signing, on February 10, 2026 in Kiev, of a Protocol between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
