The Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs prioritizes strengthening mechanisms to prevent and combat drug use and trafficking with the goal of protecting citizens from the harmful effects of illicit substances and promoting a safe and healthy environment.

Moldova continues to strengthen its commitment to public security, institutional reform and regional stability through its active participation in the 34th session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, recently held in Vienna.

Border crossings in Moldova will become faster, safer and more efficient for citizens. Border police will be equipped with modern tools and receive advanced training to prevent illegal migration and combat cross-border crime, enhancing the safety of people and communities.

Foreign nationals with temporary or permanent residence rights, asylum seekers, stateless persons, beneficiaries of international or temporary protection, unaccompanied minors and other vulnerable individuals will enjoy same rights as Moldovan citizens.

Moldovan Carabineers will be equipped with modern gear and new patrol vehicles, thanks to a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the General Inspectorate of Carabineers of the Republic of Moldova and the Gendarmerie General Command of the Republic of Turkey in Chisinau.
