Firefighters from Moldova’s Ground Forest Fire Fighting Team (GFFFV-MD) have returned home following a pre-positioning mission in the Hellenic Republic, where they were deployed from July 14 to August 15, 2026 under the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism. On August 17, the team was welcomed and honored at a dedicated ceremony.

Moldova is taking steps to align its national framework with the European Prüm II mechanism, enabling faster and more effective exchanges of police data with European authorities on wanted persons and property and identification of persons involved in cross-border crimes. To this end, the Government has approved a draft law on international police cooperation.

The Republic of Moldova and the Federal Republic of Germany continue to strengthen their partnership in strategic areas, including border security, migration management, and institutional preparedness for European integration.

Preventing tragedies caused by domestic violence requires timely intervention, effective institutional cooperation, and a thorough understanding of the circumstances that place victims at risk.

"Safety is built through hard work, professionalism, and responsibility. We move forward with confidence and determination", said Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin, who today took the oath of office for her third term.
