Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros met with Peter Wagner, head of the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments, EEAS

 

Chișinău, September 3, 2024 –Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, held a bilateral meeting with Peter Wagner, Director of the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) at the European External Action Service (EEAS).

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. Key topics included combating cross-border crime, enhancing internal security, and improving border management. Both parties emphasized the importance of preventing and countering hybrid threats, which remain a significant concern.

Minister Efros outlined the ministry’s primary objectives aimed at bolstering institutional capacities to ensure regional stability and security. In addition, the officials touched on the need to intensify strategic and operational cooperation, along with the exchange of experience and expertise to elevate security not only in Moldova, but across the European continent.

nother key topic was the launch of the "EU4 Moldova Resilience - Secure State, Resilient Communities" project, designed to enhance community resilience and the state's ability to address security challenges.

Minister Efros reaffirmed Moldova's commitment to close collaboration with European partners to ensure a secure and stable environment. He highlighted the importance of strengthening capabilities to prevent and combat cybercrime and other modern threats.

Both sides agreed on the need for joint and sustained efforts to tackle current challenges and ensure the security and well-being of citizens in Moldova and across Europe.
