Public policies with a direct impact on people's lives

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has set out its five-year action plan through a strategic process focused on delivering tangible results for citizens. From August 13 to 15, 2025, the Ministry hosted the workshop "Developing public policy documents for the 2026-2030 strategic planning cycle", organized with the support of the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF) and the Institute for European Policies and Reforms.

Opening the event, Secretary of State Victor Grosu underlined the significance of the initiative, stressing that it is not merely about drafting formal documents, but about creating a concrete roadmap to transform the Ministry’s priorities into measurable improvements in people's daily lives.

Over three days, specialists from across the Ministry worked together to define objectives tailored to real needs, set performance indicators that measure genuine progress, and identify solutions to make MIA’s interventions faster, more professional, and more responsive to citizens. The process involved reviewing existing sectoral programs, assessing their alignment with national and international standards, and adapting them to today’s security and public order challenges.

The ultimate goal is to develop the 2026 - 2030 Internal Affairs Development Strategy as a practical governance tool – one that strengthens public safety, delivers modern services and fosters a more transparent and accountable ministry. This approach reaffirms MIA’s commitment to shaping public policies based on evidence, results, and accountability, with citizens placed at the heart of decision-making.
