Stronger security for citizens and better-prepared institutions to meet emerging challenges - this was the focus of the meeting between Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin and H.E. Cosmin Dinescu, Head of the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova).
During the meeting, the two officials signed a Letter of Intent marking the start of the process to establish a Critical Infrastructure Coordination Center within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The new facility will significantly enhance the Ministry’s capacity to anticipate, manage, and respond to complex threats, particularly those of a hybrid nature. The benefits are clear: quicker crisis response, more effective inter-institutional cooperation, and stronger protection for the networks and services essential to the functioning of the state.
EUPM Moldova will support the initiative at every stage, from planning and technical expertise to staff training and testing of communication infrastructure.
This new initiative builds on the ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and EUPM Moldova, which has already contributed to the modernization of operational communications and the enhancement of the Ministry’s analytical capabilities.
Ultimately, citizens will benefit from safer public services, quicker emergency response, and greater protection against potential threats.
