22 May 2025 Romania remains a vital and reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova, particularly in the areas of security and support for our country’s European integration. During an official visit to Bucharest, Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin met with Romania's Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu. The discussions focused on practical solutions aimed at benefiting the citizens of both countries. Key priorities included improving coordinated control at the Moldovan-Romanian border and advancing the bilateral agreements currently under negotiation. These efforts will help streamline cross-border traffic, making it easier for families, workers and students to travel between the two countries. Minister Misail-Nichitin also welcomed Romania's accession to the Schengen area - a milestone for regional security and connectivity. Another major topic was the fight against hybrid threats and disinformation. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation through experience sharing and development of joint prevention and response mechanisms.
