Rapid response, more patrol teams in communities, and online safety. Public Order and Security Program approved by the Government

Citizen safety at home, in public spaces, and online will improve. Today, the Government approved the Public Order and Security Program for 2026 - 2030.

The Program provides for reducing response times to emergency calls and increasing the number of patrol teams, especially in rural areas. Another key objective relates to the reorganization of the police by regions to reduce administrative costs and improve the presence of patrol units in communities. Public order entities will also be equipped with modern technology and trained for rapid and professional interventions, including during crisis situations.

“Every citizen must feel protected, regardless of where they live. Police will come closer to the community, and investments in digitalization and interoperability will allow for better coordination among authorities”, stated the Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail-Nichitin.

The document emphasizes the respect for human rights, the protection of vulnerable groups, and the fight against violence. Women, children, older persons, and people with disabilities will benefit from dedicated protection and support measures.

A novelty of the Program is that it includes current priorities such as digital safety, critical infrastructure protection, and combating hate speech online.

This is the fifth program approved by the Government to support the implementation of the Internal Affairs Development Strategy for 2022 - 2030.
