European integration is both a choice of direction and an affirmation of identity for Moldova - a path that promises greater security, freedom, and opportunity for every citizen. It is the means by which European values become a tangible part of everyday life.
With support from the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF), the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a working meeting to define strategic priorities for 2026 - 2030. The session brought together specialists and decision-makers to translate European objectives into concrete, actionable measures.
Discussions centred on the priorities outlined in Chapter 24 Justice, Freedom, and Security – a chapter closely linked to protecting human life and rights, enhancing institutional responsiveness, and improving the efficiency of public services. The sectoral programs developed for this period aim to deliver visible improvements in the Ministry’s operations and engagement with citizens.
From equipping laboratories with advanced DNA and cyber technologies, to introducing modern identification and monitoring systems, building facilities for rescuers and deploying state-of-the-art equipment at the border - these initiatives go far beyond material investments. They are instruments that make security tangible and ensure public services reach people faster and more efficiently.
The benefits for citizens are evident: stronger border protection, access to European alert and cooperation systems, greater freedom of movement, and new opportunities for professional growth. Step by step, Moldova is securing its place in the European family, transforming EU standards into everyday reality, rather than being just a goal on paper.
