13 May 2025 Moldovan Carabineers will be equipped with modern gear and new patrol vehicles, thanks to a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the General Inspectorate of Carabineers of the Republic of Moldova and the Gendarmerie General Command of the Republic of Turkey in Chisinau. Under the agreement, the General Inspectorate of Carabineers will receive patrol vehicles and special protective equipment. Additionally, tactical gear will be delivered to the Special Police Brigade "Fulger" of the General Police Inspectorate. Alexandru Bejan, Secretary of State of the Moldovan Ministry of Internal Affairs, emphasized the importance of this support for maintaining public order. "This is a significant moment for our internal affairs system. The assistance provided by the Republic of Turkey, including in training and professional development of our employees, strengthens our tactical and operational capabilities. Thanks to this Memorandum, our entities will be better prepared to respond to today’s security challenges." Turkish Lieutenant General İsmail Balibek reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting the continued modernization of the Moldovan Carabineers.
