The Republic of Moldova continues to demonstrate its commitment to global peace and stability. A new contingent of Moldovan carabineers has been deployed to Kosovo, where they will join over 27 countries in the KFOR peacekeeping mission. This marks the third rotation of Moldovan personnel participating in this important international effort.
The departure ceremony was held at the General Inspectorate of Carabineers and was attended by officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, embassy representatives and international partners. Minister of Internal Affairs Misail-Nichitin delivered an emotional address to the departing contingent:
"I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the honour of continuing Moldova’s mission abroad. Your courage, dignity and professionalism serve the cause of peace. By wearing the carabineers’ insignia with pride, you speak for the entire Republic of Moldova".
Minister Misail-Nichitin also emphasized the appreciation previous Moldovan contingents have earned from international partners. She highlighted the participation of a female rifle officer in this rotation – an important symbol of equality, professionalism and trust.
Major Marina Dediu, the commander of the contingent, shared her perspective: "It is an honour to take part in this mission. We are well-prepared and fully committed to contributing to peace and stability in Kosovo, alongside our international colleagues."
Through these missions, Moldova reaffirms its dedication to global peace and security, while offering its carabineers the opportunity to enhance their professional experience and strengthen the country’s reputation as a reliable international partner.
