21 February 2025 Residents of Cainari and 23 other localities in the districts of Causeni, Ialoveni and Anenii Noi benefit from a modern fire and rescue station, built from the ground up. The new station offers several advantages: faster emergency response, significantly reducing intervention times in the localities of the former Cainari administrative area; enhanced safety for residents, especially given the increased risks of fires, train accidents or heavy snowfalls that can block roads; better working conditions for firefighters, improving efficiency and response times. At the inauguration ceremony, Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail Nichitin stated: "Today, here in Cainari, we have another example of Moldova’s commitment to modernization, sustainability and energy independence. This year, we have already opened an energy-independent fire station in Donduseni, in the north of the country, and next month we will complete another one in Ocnita. We also plan to build 23 more such stations - and we’re just getting started!" A key feature of this facility is its energy independence, ensuring uninterrupted operation regardless of external conditions. The building is equipped with three heat pumps, providing efficient and eco-friendly heating and a 55 kW photovoltaic system supplying electricity year-round while reducing costs and environmental impact. This vital project was made possible through the support of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the United States, which provided funding and technical assistance.
