Strategic partnership with France: joint efforts for public order and national security

As part of bilateral collaboration in internal affairs with France, several joint initiatives have been developed to enhance public order and bolster the security of Moldovan citizens. Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin and the Ambassador of France to Moldova, Dominique Waag, reviewed the progress achieved and outlined future objectives.

Key priorities include organizing emergency management training, mitigating cyber risks, exchanging best practices in anti-corruption efforts, training K-9 units and combating document fraud. Both sides also agreed to step up measures to combat organized crime and ensure enhanced security at Moldova’s borders. Additionally, the French delegation proposed a joint protocol between investigative agencies to deepen cooperation in tackling cross-border crime.

The partners highlighted the positive impact and enhanced capabilities of the employees of the ministry’s subdivisions following their participation in international missions supported by France and their contributions to ensuring security during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

In conclusion, Ambassador Waag reaffirmed France’s support for Moldova’s European integration efforts and emphasized the commitment of her colleagues to provide assistance in aligning national legislation with the EU acquis.
