Developing an equitable security system: Gender inclusiveness for better results

The launch of the Capacity Building for Women in Police Association project, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden and the Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance (DCAF), marks a significant step towards leveraging the potential of women and aligning security forces with the actual needs of the community.

This initiative aims to enhance women’s professional development through training programs, mentoring and improved access to leadership positions.

“By fostering women’s potential, we are creating security forces that are more transparent, effective and connected to the realities of our communities. Diversity makes us stronger, and the support we provide today will lead to more inclusive solutions tomorrow,” said Vladislav Cojuhari, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

During the event, a commitment to gender equality was underscored by recognizing four men as designated Ambassadors of Women in Police Association. Their ongoing support exemplifies that achieving equality is not solely a women’s issue, but a collective mission. These leaders serve as role models for collaboration and solidarity, contributing to a fairer and more inclusive work environment.
