Secretary of State Mariana Lucrețeanu met with Joachim Stamp, the Federal Government’s Special Commissioner for Migration Agreements, to discuss the Agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Moldova and the Federal Republic of Germany on migration and mobility.
During the meeting, the officials reviewed the progress and outlined the necessary steps to finalize and sign the agreement. Secretary of State Lucreteanu emphasized the critical role of continued international support in light of the refugee crisis in Ukraine and reiterated Moldova’s commitment to collaborate on developing resilient, customized solutions to current challenges. She also stressed the importance of establishing effective mechanisms in migration, asylum and reception in line with European standards.
The discussions also addressed proposed legislative amendments concerning the admission, stay and supervision of foreigners, aimed at aligning Moldova’s national legislation with EU regulations. The contributions and expertise of international partners were highlighted as vital to achieving shared goals.
Joachim Stamp commended Moldova for its dedication to constructive dialogue and successful cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
