The Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, had a working visit to Budapest between January 24 and 25, together with Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea.
During the visit, Minister Adrian Efros signed with the Minister of the Interior of Hungary, Sándor Pintér, a Memorandum of Understanding between the institutions they represent, through which they undertake to develop cooperation in the field of internal affairs by sharing best practices; participation in joint projects and programs; pursuing opportunities to participate in European Union instruments, as well as other relevant international cooperation instruments; and concluding Annual Action Plans in various fields related to internal affairs.
Also, during the visit, the Minister of Internal Affairs had a meeting with the Executive Director of CEPOL (European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training) - Montserrat Marín López. The official thanked for the support given in the field of strengthening the capacities of MIA employees since 2012, from the moment of the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the "Ștefan cel Mare" Academy of MIA and CEPOL. The Minister highlighted that the negotiation and signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding and the expansion of the activity calendar with the implementation of new staff-training methodologies according to identified needs, are among the priorities of the MIA.
Later, Minister Adrian Efros held talks with Scott Donovan, Director of ILEA Budapest (International Law Enforcement Academy based in Budapest). The two representatives discussed the possibility of organizing trainings in order to train managerial skills, investigating crimes committed against children with the help of informational technologies, policies to promote gender equality in law enforcement institutions, investigating crimes related to drug trafficking and others.
In continuation, Minister Adrian Efros participated in the meeting of the Prime Minister Dorin Recean with his Hungarian counterpart, Viktor Orbán. The meeting, organized at the invitation of Prime Minister Orbán, focused on the bilateral agenda between the Republic of Moldova and Hungary, the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova and the promotion of economic and investment priorities.
