„COMMUNICATION INFRASTRUCTURE” – COMINF
Code EMS-ENI - COMINF/3.1/1
We are happy to announce the successful completion of the "COMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE" Project - COMINF, EMS-ENI Code - COMINF/3.1/1.
Thanks to the good collaboration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the Republic of Moldova with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure from Romania, it was possible to create an innovative and strategic project for both countries, with a total investment of 7,591,320.33 Euros.
The benefits of this project will be felt in the next period, after the authorities' capacity to react in emergency situations has been strengthened and the exchange of information has been improved. Now we will have a rapid exchange of information between the law enforcement authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, making the collaboration faster and more efficient.
Within the project, the establishment of the Cross-Border Police Cooperation Center in Lipcani was successful. Likewise, the communications infrastructure was modernized, by expanding the information transmission capacity to at least 5 Gbps.
Thanks to this important investment, 4 mobile communication centers were purchased, which allowed the expansion of the coverage area with communication services.
The infrastructure works were completed by the company "EUROSTIL CONSTRUCT", after the signing of the Enterprise Contract for External Actions of the European Union on June 10, 2021. The choice of this company was based on its vast experience in the construction field and its undisputed reputation in terms of quality and professionalism.
The new infrastructure will make the collaboration between the partner institutions of the two countries faster and more accessible. By expanding communications capabilities and improving information sharing, law enforcement authorities in the Republic of Moldova and Romania will benefit from secure and effective cooperation in managing emergencies and other cross-border challenges.
This strategic project was made possible thanks to the generous funding granted by the European Union through the European Neighborhood Instrument (ENI), thus confirming the solid commitment of our European partners to regional development and cooperation between states.
The primary goal was to create a strong communication network, facilitating an efficient and secure exchange of information between law enforcement entities in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
We are grateful to everyone involved in this project – our work teams, partners and supporters!
