11 November 2025 On the side-lines of the international conference “Women4Security – From Opportunities to Real Impact: Advancing the Role of Women in Peace and Security Processes for the Next 25 Years”, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Diana Salcuțan, held a bilateral discussion with Aude Maio-Coliche, Ambassador for Equality from the European External Action Service. The main topic of the meeting was the progress achieved in implementing the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Moldova and the strengthening of the partnership with the European Union to promote gender equality in the security and defense sector. The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to expand and implement the National Action Plan 1325, which focuses on increasing women’s representation in decision-making positions and in international peace-keeping missions. A notable example is the deployment, to date, of three women from the General Inspectorate of Carabineers as part of the contingents participating in the international peacekeeping mission in Kosovo (KFOR). Throughout 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs organized training sessions and experience-sharing activities aimed at developing both the practical skills and theoretical knowledge of women working in the security and defense sector. These initiatives promote an inclusive work environment based on respect and collaboration. At the same time, significant progress has been made in adapting the legislative framework to combat harassment and workplace violence, in line with international standards. Discussions with the Ambassador for Equality reaffirmed that the progress achieved is the result of a coordinated effort combining public policies, quality training, and international cooperation.
