13 November 2025 Romania remains a trusted partner in the European path of the Republic of Moldova. This message was reaffirmed during the meeting between the Minister of Internal Affairs, Daniella Misail-Nichitin, and Nicoleta Pauliuc, Chair of the Committee for Defence, Public Order and National Security of the Romanian Senate. The dialogue confirmed the relationship of trust and cooperation between the two states in strengthening resilience and ensuring the safety of citizens. A central topic of discussion focused on the Republic of Moldova’s European integration path and the importance of Chapter 24, Justice, Freedom and Security, through advancing reforms in the field of internal affairs, strengthening the rule of law, public order, and national security. The meeting also highlighted the successful management of transparent and democratic elections, as well as the efforts to counter numerous attempts to undermine them and to combat large-scale disinformation. In this context, it was emphasized that Moldova serves as a good example for other states preparing for elections, while Romania, as a strategic partner and strong supporter of Moldova’s European integration efforts, stands ready to provide assistance through the exchange of best practices and expertise. The dialogue paves the way for joint initiatives that will enhance institutional resilience and bring direct benefits to the citizens of both countries.
