Moldovan police detained three Moldavian citizens, suspected to have killed a U.S. citizen, of Italian origin at the end of April.
On May 7th, the Ministry of Internal Affairs received a request from the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, in which the embassy officials announced the disappearance of a man aged 64, citizen of the United States and Italy.
To establish all the circumstances of the victim’s disappearance and to identify persons suspicious in his disappearance, was initiated and conducted a special action plan in which people of law have applied several methods of acquiring the operative-investigative information.
Thus, the police established that on April 24th, 2010, the citizen Vincento Fuccio came in the Republic of Moldova, by air route Munich-Chisinau.
Subsequently, police investigations have identified three young suspects in the disappearance of Italian. It's about two men, aged 21 years and a woman, 20 years, who were detained by police and explained in details their diabolical plan.
According to the suspects, the girl met the stranger him via internet and for a month they have corresponded by email. After many letters, the Italian and the Moldovan woman established a meeting in Moldovan capital, Chisinau.
In the evening when the crime was made, they expected the stranger at the airport; he entered into a rented car and they went towards an unknown direction.
Travel destination was the forest from village Rezeni, Ialoveni. Once arriving at the destination point, the alien was forced to alight from the car and because he resisted, he was physically abused. After they have applied some blows with feet, one of the suspects strangled him with the belt of trousers.
The suspects managed to steal from Fuccio Vincento two mobile phones, a laptop, personal documents, credit cards that were thrown into a nearby pond, and cash amounting to 3000 Euros.
Police investigations have established that the victim owns a chain of hotels in Italy and America. This was the fourth time he visits our country, and for the first time saw the girl.
Regarding this was initiated a criminal case based on provisions from art. 145 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova - "Intentional murder". If their guilt is proven, the suspected persons for homicide risk life imprisonment.
